Get Involved!

 Spread the Word

Help us spread the word about this amazing event! Only you can ensure that your lifelong friends are there to help us celebrate. Here are a few suggestions:

    • Send an email to your camp friends and family, inviting them to join you for a weekend in Santa Rosa!
    • Post that you’re attending on Facebook, Instagram or Twitter with the hashtag #Campat70
    • Host an alumni Shabbat dinner in your community to help build excitement for coming home to camp!

Share your Memories

Did Someone from Camp Shape Your Life? Leading up to and during the event we will be sharing what makes camp so special.

When you think about the impact camp has had on your life, who are the people – the friends, staff, educators and cabin mates – that you think of? Perhaps it was special counselor who helped draw you out of your shell, or a rabbi who made you see Judaism in an entirely novel way. Or maybe it was an artist who helped you discover your inner talents, or a friend you made on your first day of camp – who is still in your life today. At our upcoming 70th Anniversary Celebration, we want to honor and celebrate all the incredible people who make up the soul and heart of our camp community.

Please share a story, photo and/or your memory of this special person (or people!) with camp: Email Alaina Yoakum at ayoakum@urj.org.

Volunteer

We are putting together a group of alumni volunteers to help make this event a success! If you’re interested in getting involved in the planning of this event, please reach out to Julia Friedman.

Host a celebration

While camp will not be open the whole weekend, we encourage alumni to get together to keep the memories flowing. If you are hosting a shabbat dinner, a CIT class happy hour or a alumni decade Sunday brunch – let us know and we can help you spread the word.

Make a donation

Can’t join us for the weekend but interested in making a lasting impact on the future of Camp Newman? Please consider a donation to ensure another 70 years of Jewish camping.
