Throughout the summer our team will share photos, videos, blog posts and emails with you to give you a window into the camp experience! Read more about how camp will share with you and how you can stay in touch with your camper.

Photos, Video & Social Media

  • 1x Daily photo upload, typically after 9pm Pacific, to your CampInTouch or Campanion account (same login information, see more below) with pictures sorted into separate folders labeled by eidah (unit).
  • Daily social media highlight posts (Follow us on Instagram & Facebook, now!)
  • Pictures & Posting on Shabbat: In order to give our communications team some much needed Shabbat rest, photo uploads on Friday will happen before 5pm. Pictures and posts from our Friday night Shabbat celebrations and Saturday activities will be posted together on Saturday after 9pm.
  • Pictures of YOUR Camper: Our camp photographers work very hard everyday to snap pictures of every (willing) camper but it is not always possible. We always give campers the option to join a picture, especially staged group pictures, but will not force a camper to have their picture taken.

CampInTouch is the platform through which you enrolled in camp and submitted all your forms. In addition to the desktop version, there is a great app called Campanion that allows you to access your account from your phone. You can also access photos and e-letters from EITHER the desktop CampInTouch login or your Campanion App.

Download the free Campanion app and set up your mobile account. Be sure to upload a picture of your camper to take advantage of the optional facial recognition capability that will automatically notify you when pictures of your camper have been posted!

Communicating with your Child

  • Snail Mail: When addressing letters that will be delivered to camp by the post office, please us the following address configuration:

Camper’s Full Name
URJ Camp Newman – Session Name (ex. Aleph Bonim)

4088 Porter Creek Rd.
Santa Rosa, CA 95404

  • eLetters: You have the ability to send one-way eLetters through your CampInTouch Account which, if they arrive before 9am, will be delivered the same day to your camper, every day except Saturday.
  • Mail delivery: All mail is picked up by counselors after lunch (between 12-2pm) and delivered to campers every day except Saturday. Please note: eLetters sent after 9am will be delivered the next day, or on Sunday if it is sent after 9am Friday morning.
  • Packages: We have a no-package policy. If your camper left something essential at home, please email newmanpackages@gmail.com before you send the package.
  • Campers may not make or receive phone calls while at campwith the exception of extenuating circumstances such as a family emergency or pre-approval by the Camp Director, Rabbi Allie. If your camper is having a hard time, we’ll work with you directly to strategize about how best to support them. Putting a camper on the phone with their parent/guardian/trusted adult almost never improves the situation. Trust us to take care of your child, help them adjust and navigate new experiences, and that we will reach out to you in the (very rare) instance where nothing is improving.

You can review our full no-package policy, when mail is delivered, and communications to and from camp throughout the summer on pages 10-12 in your Parent Manual which can be accessed through your CampInTouch Account in Forms & Documents.
