WHY CHOOSE NEWMAN?
Our Philosophy of CARE
Here at Camp Newman we are a:
Role-modeling positive behaviors, where
Each and every member of the community is vital and important.
A Lifelong Jewish Journey
We believe camp is a transformative experience that can inspire us to apply what we’ve learned to better ourselves, our communities and the world.
We’re building a foundation for a vibrant and joyful Jewish life. Whether it’s a weekend retreat, a week-long session or a full summer at camp, every child and teen is given space to learn, grow and cultivate their own sense of wonder, pride and connection to their Jewish heritage and legacy.
Day or Night, there’s so much to do!
Campers spend their days creating, exploring, playing, learning and discovering in a safe, nurturing space where you can BE YOU!
Love art? We’ve got it. Love sports? We’ve got it. Love trying new things? Us too! Want to get better at something you already love? We’re here to guide, support and celebrate each and every camper!
our home at porter creek road
We are excited to be (re)building our home with state-of-the-art, accessible recreation, dining and living spaces so all who enter our gates feel at home.
Nestled in the hills of Santa Rosa, CA on over 500 acres of tree covered land, our campers and staff have space and time to just be; no screens, no pressure, only sunny days, starry nights and circles of friends singing around a campfire.
We have the best staff in the world
Our counselors are Jewish role models who have a true love of camp. They are enthusiastic, fun, and our best camp ambassadors.
On the first day of camp at our welcome rally we ask our campers, “Do you know why you are the luckiest campers in the world?” The answer: “Because you have the best counselors in the world!” We put a lot of effort into picking the best of the best to support your children during the summer. Through a rigorous application process and an intensive staff orientation program, our counselors and leadership enter the summer prepared and energized, ready to meet your children.
