our home on porter creek road!
Camp Newman is nestled in the hills of Santa Rosa, CA on over 500 acres of tree covered natural beauty. Everyone who enters our gates experiences the fullness of unsurpassed beauty and a sense of enchantment, wonder and gratitude. Here, nature, people and environment are in tune with one another. Memorable moments, our state-of-the-art and accessible facilities, and the rich and varied programs make this camp far more than the usual summer camping experience.
Where We Eat
Our dining hall – or what we call the Chadar Ochel – is the home of our largest camp programs: our meals. With indoor seating for 700 and sliding glass doors out to the terrace for space for 200 more, this space will be a celebration of community!

Where We Sleep
Our cabins are your home away from home! Air conditioned, spacious, with plenty of cubby space and hanging room. Our cabins house two bunks – one on each side with a shared bathroom.
Teen Tent Village
With a focus on creating communal space with central hang-out points, our tent village is a community of large, glamping tents with brand new bunk beds and cubby storage. Tent living connects thematically with our sessions dedicated to social justive, environmentalism and teen leadership. Teen Tents will provide a unique space for many of our teen sessions to make their own.
Where We play and learn
Our activity spaces are thoughtfully planned to incorporate natural surrounding, ample shade on warm days and space for each camper to experience all camp has to offer. Our sport court features space for basketball, pickle-ball, soccer tennis, 9-Square and more, while our two recreation fields is home to a whole array of activities from ultimate frisbee to cabin times to all camp bbqs. With several dedicated art spaces, campers can tap into their creativity with projects as big as ceramics and painting their own talit and as small as friendship bracelet making.
Where We Swim
Whether you want the thrill of a trip down the water slide or a more leisurely hang in the shallow end, our pool is a great time!
Campers go to the pool daily with their age group and may even get a chance for a dive-in movie or Havdallah in the pool once during their session at camp!
Where we pray
The Beit T’fillah
Our Beit T’fillah – our main outdoor sanctuary – is our most sacred space on camp. Dress in your best white outfit, watch the sun set through the redwood trees, and sing along to beautiful prayers and songs led by our song leaders every Friday night.
The Beit T’fillah is also home for summer concerts, session songs, Yom Sport sing-downs and daily shira (song sessions).
Adventure Mountain courses consists of both high and low elements as well as an archery range. Our program starts with low ropes activities where our bunks have the opportunity to bond and become a more cohesive group. Then, they move onto high ropes elements. The older you get, the more opportunities you have on the ropes course!
