Mechina - Taste of Camp

Mechina is a 4- or 6-day session designed for first time campers entering 2nd-4th grades. With options during Session Aleph and Session Daled.

Housing: All Mechina (Taste of Camp) lives in cabins.

Session 1

Session 1 consists of a 1-month session option for campers going into 6th-11th grade and two, 2-week sessions for campers going into 3rd-11th grade. Please remember that all grades refer to your camper’s grade as of FALL 2026. Check out the rates for Session 1 here>>

Housing: All Mechina (Taste of Camp), 2-week, and 4-week campers will be living in cabins.

Session 2

Teen Leadership Programs (8 weeks)

Our oldest campers have the opportunity to spend 8 amazing weeks at camp in our Avodah (11th grade) and CIT (12th grade) programs. Applications for these programs will open in November. Check our the Avodah and CIT rates here>>

Housing: Avodah and CIT will be living together in the Village 8 tents.

*1st Timer Tuition represents the URJ Member Tuition less a $700 One Happy Camper Incentive Grant for first-time campers attending a session 12+ consecutive days. Families must apply at OneHappyCamper.org to receive this grant after enrolling in camp.  For campers who are not members of a URJ congregation, the grant would be applied after assessing the Non-Member Fee.

**A $40 “jersey fee” is included in Avodah and CIT tuition.

An additional bus fee of $65 per camper, per way, will be charged for those choosing to use our bus service.

Making Camp Affordable

We believe that every camper is the most important person in the world, and we want to help make camp a reality for you and your camper. We will do everything possible to work with you to lower the financial hurdle.

Please visit our Scholarships page for information about how you can receive financial aid for your camper’s summer tuition. The Scholarship Application will be available on or before December 1st and families will be notified of financial assistance starting April 1st.
