Art & Reflection by Rabbi Allie Fischman, Camp Director
Our Elul reflection prompt for today is light. We’re thinking of light in so many ways…the way our camp community fills us with light and hope during these difficult times and the way our Shabbat candles fill our homes with the bright glow of a pause in our regular weeks and signal a time for rest, relaxation, and renewal. We’re also thinking today of the lights that will shine throughout our nation to commemorate the many lives sadly taken on September 11, 2001. To lose a loved one is tragic no matter the cause but to lose loved ones so tragically can be difficult forever. May all their memories be an enduring blessing and may all those who mourn find comfort on this day of remembrance.
