Lobby Day 2021
Guided by the value of Tikkun Olam (repairing the world), each summer our Hevrah campers dedicate their time at camp to learning about social justice and how they can use their Jewish values to make a difference. This summer, campers in the Social Justice Yetzirah (major), spent two weeks learning about criminal justice reform along with organizing tactics and tips on how to lobby.
Staff Week Everything I Wanted and More
Through the numerous programs we did during staff week, one thing was apparent: we were part of a great history and tradition of counselors who love camp. Each staff member brings something unique to the team and is able to connect with campers in a different and creative way.
I Believe
I believe we can do hard things. I believe we will all try our best to set up each camper for success, safety and happiness. I believe in each and every one of you. I believe in the power of camp.
Holy Spaces and Creating Holiness
We have rebuilt the physical foundation of Camp Newman, yet without the holiness of our community and our campers, camp is only a plot of land. For the past three years, Porter Creek has been a site of construction and expansion, but as we welcome campers in the coming weeks, it is becoming so much more.
