FAQs

We will begin the week on the evening of Sunday, June 21st and continue through until Saturday, June 27th!

$180 covers a week of amazing virtual camp with dedicated counselors and specialists, an inspiring Shabbat experience, as well as an exclusive camp Newman swag box. All enrolled campers will receive their Camp Swag Box around July 15th.

We know that maintaining smaller groups in a virtual setting can maximize engagement and ability to build meaningful relationships. We are committed to ensuring each and every camper makes connections and friendships, just as they would at camp in-person.

To that end, registration opens Friday, June 5th and we can only guarantee your camper a spot if you register by Wednesday, June 17th. After that date, we will start a wait list and do our very best to enroll every camper that wants to join us while maintaining small group sizes and a good counselor to camper ratio. 

All camp activities are structure for campers to participate independently. If there is an activity that requires parental supervision, you will be notified in advance (eg. Cooking). We would love families to join us for Shabbat celebrations on Friday night! 

We know that it’s hard to get certain supplies right now and therefore we are going to do our best to use everyday items in your homes for the campers to use during their electives. A supply list for each chug (elective) will be available to review before your camper makes their choice so that you can prepare in advance. 

Yes! Campers may request up to two friends as part of their camp registration – please include friend’s first and last name in the form that is provided.   

Cabins will be approximately 6-8 campers to ensure that they all can have a chance create lifelong camp friendships. Counselors will be present during each activity the cabin does for the day.  

You will receive a link to a "Chug Selection Form" within a few days of enrollment to complete with your camper.  Supply lists for each chug will be available so that you can prepare ahead of time.

Each camper will be notified of their cabin-mates and chug (elective) via email by Friday, June 19th.

Trained counselors will be assigned to each cabin and chug (elective) to ensure that kids are engaged, to answer questions, facilitate activities and cabin times and make sure everyone is engaging respectfully. 

The quick answer is “no”. We know how important it is to take a break from the screen – that is what we live for during a typical summer at Newman. Keeping that in mind, our schedule will run from 9am-12pm with a short break for snack and activities will be fun and physically engaging. There will be optional cabin times and programs for campers in the eveningSome congregations will be offering gatherings before and after Zoomin' with Newman; you will receive that information if it applies to your camper.  

You will receive a copy of our Virtual Camp Guidelines and each family, including campers, will be required to participate in an orientation session the week prior to Zoomin' with Newman. Each session for each cabin will be recorded. Chat features will be limited and monitored by a counselor.  

If you have a credit in your account to be used for future programs, Zoomin' with Newman tuition will be deducted from that credit. If you are waiting for a refund, Zoomin' with Newman tuition will be deducted from your refund. 

In order to get the best and fullest experience from this very special week, we strongly recommend they participate in the daily activities.  We hope that each camper signing up for Zoomin’ with Newman will be able to attend the full week of fun. While we will be sad to see them leave early, please note that once enrolled, fees are non-refundable and cannot be pro-rated.  If you have concerns or extenuating circumstances, please let us know!
